Animation Assistant to
Nik Arthur

Working as a assistant animator to Nik Arthur, we explore experimental animation techniques. Most often working with organic matter, Nik develops novel animation approaches that engage with nature’s intrinsic patterns, attending to how their constructions can shape new methods of storytelling.

Projects include work for artists such as J Cole, Girl in Red, Zack Villerie, 9 Million as well as Nik’s ongoing short film research and development.

John Fluevog is a cult brand, known for it’s uniqueness and commitment to craftsmanship. The shoes are designed to be unexpected and quirky, often said that they are “always in style, because they’re never in style”.

The fashion industry is valued at 3 trillion dollars globally. While it is a massive GDP producer, it has also been found to be the third largest polluter in the world. Darn and Dart, the (fictional) brand, though can’t solely solve this problem, aims to start a movement to curve it. By opening a modern take on a mending and alteration studio in Vancouver, B.C., they aim to make it easier to love the clothes you own.

Using real stories from people who have experienced overdose and addiction, as well as mediums such as crayons (often associated with childhood), the aim was to display the humanity and story that each patient holds and evoke an empathetic response in ER staff. ABOUT ME

KAYLI KOONAR

As a designer, I put a lot of trust in the process often using experimentation to pivot, refine and find the best direction to move forward with. I work with a number of mediums that range from digital illustration and design to analog photography and image-making techniques.

Projects that involve the mixing of concepts, a variety of mediums, and a meaningful cause are what I find most rewarding and exciting to work on.
